The "Igreja da Misericórdia" (Misericórdia Church), located to the west of the hospital, stands on a large site, which further helps draw attention to its main façade, where the collage of architectural features in different styles (neoclassical below and Baroque above) give it a unique character. Designed by Adães Bermudes, it was consecrated on the 12th August 1914.
