The Hotel

In the hotel’s architecture you can find evidence of the late 19th century Romantic Movement bestowed to places with a certain good taste, culture and financial resources. The project was design by Miguel Ventura Terra, one of the most prominent Portuguese architects, author of other well known projects such as the Sanctuary of Santa Luzia (Viana do Castelo), Assembleia da República(house of commons), House of Viscondessa de Valmor, Totta e Açores Bank, Maternity Alfredo da Costa, Liceu de Camões e Theatre Politeama ( all in Lisbon).

Malaposta is composed by a main house, two elongated buildings characterized by curvilinear angles and a watch tower turned to Santiago’s Way, united by a harmonious trapezoidal water tank with a porch influenced by the iron architecture ideals.

The hotel Malaposta is an old staging post where the carriages of the Mala(bag)- Posta(placed) would rest and supply on the northwest route, one of the circuits used by the pilgrims on the Santiago’s Way.

Lovelhe is one of the oldest portuguese parishes, already existed in the year 675AD as a parish, and shows evidence of ancient times, from primitive people to celts, and romans.

The hotel has 4  rooms and 7 apartments.
